Photo Restoration

A New Art Form

There was a time when photo restoration was the exclusive territory of very skilled artists who would lovingly repair and touch-up old pictures, even when they were badly torn or stained by time and the elements.

But today photo restoration is being done in a whole new way. We no longer try to repair the original pictures. Instead, we scan or digitally copy the original and then work our magic in a program called Adobe Photoshop.

Somewhere in a box or old photo album we all have pictures that just cry out to be restored. Or maybe some old slides waiting to see the light of day again.

(Or ... for people like me, who live in Northwest Florida and have had to deal with the devastation of Hurricane Ivan - which took out the back wall of my house and wrecked my studio!-well, let's just say it wasn't a pretty sight, and there were lots of damaged negatives, slides and prints!)

It's really amazing what can be done by a skilled - and very patient! - restorer these days. And it takes a lot of practice. I know, because I've been specializing in photo restoration for almost ten years now.

So, if you have an old photo of grandpa - or great-grandpa! - you'd just love to bring back to life and hang on the family picture wall ... well, I have two suggestions:

#1 - Learn to do it yourself, or
#2 - Let me do it for you!

Like I said above, I've been doing photo restoration professionally for almost ten years now. My rates are competitive. My work is guaranteed.

Here's a sample of my work:
